An empty Gas tank put me on the journey to 'Katspraddle'. It started trying to 'collifox' some sweet potato into a little fuel. But that fuel smelt too sweet... - inspiration hit and we got Katspraddle Vodka - Raymond  


Raymond looked at one of his favourite Sunday lunch staples, sweet potatoes, and thought maybe this local superfood could make a super vodka.
Most potato-based vodkas are made with English potato. An English potato has 70% water and 30% starch. With a little research Raymond realised that sweet potatoes are much higher in starch. This fact peaked his interest cause the fermentation of alcohol occurs when starches are converted to sugar. He then looked at the few other sweet potato vodka's in the world and noticed that they tended to use the high sugar lower starch Carolina sweet potato. The local Barbados sweet potato has the opposite profile with higher starch content along with good simple sugars - he figured that this unique raw material had the potential to create a unique finished vodka.

1 1/2 oz Katspraddle Vodka

1/2 oz lime juice

3/4 oz ginger syrup

1 oz grapefruit soda

Rosemary sprig garnish

1 1/2 oz Katspraddle Vodka

1 oz citrus peels infused falernum

1 oz lime juice

1 1/2 oz Bajan cherry juice

Thyme spriggarnish


1 1/2 oz Katspraddle Vodka

1 oz cinnamon syrup

1 oz lime juice

3/4 oz pineapple juice

3/4 oz cranberry juice

3/4 oz ginger syrup

bayleaf garnish

The Katspraddle Experience

1 ½ oz Katspraddle Vodka
¾ oz simple syrup
¾ oz lime juice
Dry sparkling wine
Shake the vodka, simple syrup and lime juice over ice and strain into a cocktail glass
Pour wine slowly on top and garnish with lime peel

Katspraddle Espresso Martini

1 ½ oz Katspraddle Vodka
1 oz coffee liqueur
1 ½ oz espresso
Chill a martini glass, combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Pour into chilled glass topped with whipped cream and garnished with coffee beans or sprinkled with grounded coffee.

1 oz blue curaçao
4 oz lemonade
Garnish: lemon wheel & maraschino cherry

Katspraddle Pink Lemonade

1 ½ oz Katspraddle Vodka
1 ½ oz lime juice
½ oz strawberry syrup
1 oz simple syrup
Shake over ice and pour
